PRE-CARE

  • In order for fresh micro pigmentation to heal properly and look sharp, one must follow the following pre-care instructions. Pre-care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service. Excessive bleeding during the procedure will dilute the pigment color and lead to poor healed results. Pigment when mixed with blood will change the color result, appearing more ashy/cool/purple.

How to insure minimal bleeding before the procedure:

Do not work out 24 hours before the procedure. The body can burn up to 36 hours after a work-out and body heat expands the pores making it harder to retain the pigment.

No alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or Pepto-Bismol 48 hours before the treatment. They may cause thinning of the blood.

No caffeine the day of the treatment - it may make you jittery. Although caffeine is not a blood thinner, it will increase blood pressure which can cause more bleeding.

Avoid sun and tanning on the face 2 weeks prior to the procedure, I can not work on compromised skin.

Avoid fish oil, prenatal vitamins, nutritional shakes, and "Hair-Skin-Nails" supplements. They can increase bleeding time or thin the blood.

Discontinue Retin-A, chemical & laser peels, microdermabrasion, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and any chemical exfoliants or "brightening"skincare at least 6 weeks prior to procedure. (Once brows are healed, avoid use of these products near eyebrows for prevention of premature fading.)

Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be done 3 weeks prior or 2 months after the procedure. Symmetry can be hard to balance with too much botox.

No waxing, tinting, or threading 1 week prior to the procedure. The more natural hair you have the better. Waxing may also cause a breakout.

PLEASE NOTE: One may be more sensitive during their menstrual cycle!

Clients who smoke cigarettes have delayed wound healing and accelerated skin aging. Cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide which displaces the oxygen in your skin, and nicotine, which reduces blood flow, leaving skin dry and discolored.

  • Before the Procedure:

Avoid Blood Thinning Medications. A number of medications make your blood less likely to clot (thinner) including aspirin, Midol, Excedrin, and NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Naproxen, Aleve). These medications should be discontinued 7 days before and 1 day following your appointment. If you need to take something for pain, opt for Tylenol (acetaminophen). Coumadin and Plavix also have blood thinning effects but it is not recommended to discontinue them due to their medical necessity. You should be aware of the increased risk of bruising if you're taking them.

Don't drink alcohol 24 hours prior. Alcohol has anti-platelet effects and increases your chances of bruising. So skip the glass of wine the night before and after your treatment.

    During Your Treatment:

TWO DAYS PRIOR start antiviral treatment. If you are prone to cold sores, please take your prescribed anti-viral tablets and/or L-Lysine two days prior until 3-5 days post treatment. If you have had a cold sore in the past do NOT skip this step. This could affect your healing of your lip tattoo and will definitely cause an outbreak. If you have never had a cold sore but feel any sort of tingling on your lips 24 hours after treatment, please get on an anti-viral.

  • Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service.

    Before the procedure:

Shower before your service & come with your hair pulled back, away from the treatment area.

Stay hydrated: drink lots of water and try to get plenty of sleep.

Eat something light before the service to neutralize blood sugar.

No alcohol, or blood thinners 24 hours before the treatment.

No caffeine the day of the treatment - It may make you jittery. Although caffeine is not a blood thinner, it will increase blood pressure which can then cause more bleeding.

Reschedule if you are feeling sick or have flu like symptoms.

Avoid fish oil, prenatal vitamins, nutritional shakes, and "Hair- Skin-Nails" supplements - They can increase bleeding time or thin the blood.

PLEASE NOTE: One may be more sensitive during their menstrual cycle!

Clients who smoke cigarettes may have slower healing of wounds due to lack of oxygen in the skin.

  • Before the procedure:

Please brush your teeth before coming in and stay hydrated. You will not be able to drink water for at least 2 hours after your treatment.

Make sure you eat before your treatment as you won’t be able to consume anything for a minimum of 2 hours after.

    During your procedure:

You may feel a slight tingling or minor blanching of the gums, this is normal and will usually disappear in less than 4 hours. Your teeth will never be whiter than your genetic traits. White spots may appear if you had braces, or have porous enamel, this will usually disappear in 8 hours. The whitening gel is PH neutral and will not damage your enamel, caps, crowns or veneers. **Please be advised, your teeth can only be whitened to a certain shade and cannot go whiter than your genetic traits allow.**
