AFTER-CARE

  • Eyebrow Micropigmentation Post Procedure Care

Microblading and Permanent Makeup procedures are affected by the "canvas" (your skin) that they are performed on. Lifestyle, medications, smoking, metabolism, age of the skin, facial surgery, and other procedures all contribute to fading. The initial application is always applied conservatively because every person's skin is different, and the final color can only be precisely determined and adjusted during a follow-up appointment after the initial application as fully healed. Because of this, the micropigmentation process is no complete after the initial procedure. In all cases, a follow-up appointment is required approximately 6-8 weeks after your initial application to fine tune and ensure the best.

When the area starts to flake, leave it. Do not pick, peel, or pull on the skin.

Apply a thin coat of Aquaphor or Ink Oil to the area twice a day for 3-4 days.

Wipe brows three times daily with an unscented baby wipe. Avoid using soap or cleansing products.

Avoid sweating such as from vigorous exercise for 24 hours.

Keep your hands clean and avoid touching the affected areas.

Do not scrub or pick treated areas.

Do not expose area to direct sunlight or tanning beds.

Avoid exposing the area excessive moisture or humidity, such as: facials, swimming, whirlpools (hot tubs), saunas, steam rooms, and steamy showers.

Avoid Retin-A, moisturizers, glycolic acids, exfoliants, and anti-aging products at all times (not just during healing) on all micro pigmented areas. These can cause pigments to fade and lighten prematurely.

Pigments will slowly fade over time. Schedule maintenance visits as needed to keep it looking fresh. Client is aware that the pigment applied may migrate.

Do not resume any method of eyebrow hair removal or coloration for at least 2 weeks.

Avoid eyebrow tinting within 48 hours before or two weeks after the procedure.

Periodic touch-ups will ensure longer lasting results.

    Additional information about your micropigmentation:

If you've never had microblading before, there are a lot of unknowns. One of the most common questions we're asked is what to expect during the healing process. While every person is different, and some heal more quickly or slowly than others, you should expect to lose approximately 1/3 of the initial color during the healing process. We have selected the optimal pigments for you with this in mind. In approximately 6 days it may appear too light.

After about 10 days, the color will show more. It will appear softer when completely healed. Temporary side effects from microblading and/or permanent makeup, though rare, may occur and are not limited to: severe redness, swelling, puffiness bruising, dry patches, tenderness, flakiness, infection fever, rash, skin abnormality, scarring, permanent disfigurement, and death. If you see signs of infection such as persistent increased swelling, fever, drainage, or oozing, contact your doctor immediately.

  • Day 1

It is very important to remove the lymph fluid from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. Before bed, if the lips still have some dry lymph, rinse with lukewarm water, gently removing the dry lymph, pat dry and apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure. Bruising will subside within 24 hours post procedure.

    Days 2 - 7

The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lips. Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let the lips dry out. Continue to apply ointment every 30 minutes throughout the day. Again, do NOT let the lips dry out.

During Day 1 to Day 7 (or until the scabs are gone) Please Avoid:

Water (on the PMU area) aside from cleaning them

    Makeup

    Excessive sweating

    Sauna

    Pools

    Sunbathing

    Spicy food

    Kissing

DO NOT pick the dry lips.

Do not apply anything besides Aquaphor ointment (no Vaseline, antibiotic creams, Polysporin etc.

Following the procedure, do not use creams that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin. Touchups (if needed) can be done no sooner than 8 weeks after the original appointment.

  • ESTIMATED INITIAL HEALING TIMES

The following is usually the minimum amount of time needed to heal before it is safe to change your jewelry. Because many factors influence how quickly a piercing will heal, some people will heal faster while others will take longer. Please be aware that these are only initial healing times. Most piercings will take years before they can be left out for any extended length of time without shrinking or closing. Multiple piercings healing simultaneously may result in longer healing times.

    HEALING TIMES PER AREA:

    Ear Cartilage: 3-4 months

    Ear Construction, Industrial: 3-6 month

    Earlobe: 6-8 weeks.

    CARING FOR YOUR NEW PIERCING

Let's start with two very important things to remember:

DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIERCING. The only time you will touch your piercing is when you are cleaning it, and you will first wash your hands.

DO NOT REMOVE YOUR JEWELRY. New piercings can shrink the moment jewelry is removed, making it painful or impossible to get it back in.

What is normal during the healing process:

Bleeding, bruising, and/or swelling are fairly common with a new piercing.

Some tenderness or discomfort in the area of a new piercing can be expected for several days or longer. Discoloration (redness) and itching during healing process are also fairly common.

Secretion of a whitish-yellow fluid (not pus) is part of the healing process and is to be expected. It is liquid when it leaves the body but dries into "crusties."

Piercings will go through "ups and downs" while healing. They may seem healed for a while, and then regress. The key is to continue your cleaning routine throughout initial healing time.

Piercings (including healed piercings) that are not cleaned daily may smell unpleasant. This does not necessarily indicate a problem.

Jewelry should not be expected to rotate or move freely in most piercings, even after healing. Most piercings will shrink or close very quickly if the jewelry is removed, so if you like your piercing, it is vital to LEAVE YOUR JEWELRY IN AT ALL TIMES!

  • After the procedure:

For the first 2 hours drink only water.

    No food for 2 hours.

Avoid any food or drinks that can cause staining for at least 24 hours after treatment.

If you consume anything staining after that time, make sure you brush your teeth right away.
